As of March 18th, 2023, importers of goods from China to the U.S. must declare the full address of the manufacturer including the postal code. The manufacturer’s full name, address and postal code should be provided on the import invoice at the time of the submission of the Customs Import Declaration.

U.S. Customs has issued a new requirement that all shipments arriving into the U.S. from Chinese manufacturers include the manufacturer’s postal code as part of their full address. While providing a full address is not a new specification, mandating that the postal code be part of the address is a new requirement.
